DJ Mad Max is working to bridge the gap between old & new school Hip-Hop through his show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max. With his vast Hip-Hop knowledge and unique interview style, he is introducing his generation to the legends that started it all. The show features a wide variety of guest stars including Hip-Hop artists of the past & present, R&B artists, producers/DJs, industry managers, and even pro athletes. When possible guest rappers bless the show with a freestyle. Max likes to mix it up and talk sports with his Hip-Hop guests, and Hip-Hop with his sports guests.

Thank you to Texas and Atlanta's own R&B artist Ayanis for coming on my show for an interview! Ayanis talked about her newest single U Betta featuring Kalii, leaving Atlantic Records, and why she decided to go independent. She discussed being apart of The Musiq Committee, her record with Ne-Yo that she hopes to release soon, and not reaching the pinnacles that she's wanted to reach yet. She got into starting out singing in church, recording covers in her closet that would help get her discovered by Pendrick formerly known as Mello The Producer, and landing her deal with Atlantic Records. She also talked about the importance of validating yourself before others and her thoughts on if it is more difficult to make it or stay afloat once you make it in the entertainment industry. Ayanis announced that she will be dropping a new single produced by Bangladesh soon and will be performing at Moonstone Fest on October 29th in Birmingham, Alabama.

Thank you to Berkeley, California and the Bay Area's own Rexx Life Raj for coming on my show for an interview! Rexx Life Raj talked about his new album The Blue Hour, going through grief from losing both of his parents in 2021, and creating this new album as a form of therapy to not only help himself, but others who are dealing with the loss of loved ones as well. He discussed questioning God after losing his parents, the importance of speaking to a therapist, and how his artistry has changed since the grief period. He got into playing football, tackle and guard, at Boise State University and the changes that football may eventually make due to players getting CTE. He also talked about going to middle and high school with G-Eazy, going through a bad depression phase after graduating from college, and working for free for his parents' package delivery service company. Rexx also spoke about getting his manager Ari, signing with Empire, DJ Kay Slay being the first major radio show that he freestyled on, and the importance of giving back to charity. Shoutout to Brooklyn's own R&B singer and songwriter Tony Thames for coming on my show for an interview! Tony discussed wanting to be a walk on for the University of Maryland's basketball team, suffering from a serious ankle injury in 2007, and his transition to music. He talked about starting out wanting to create rock music, making R&B, and moving out to Los Angeles as well as selling beats to survive out there. He got into having an unreleased song with 50 Cent, accepting that success doesn't happen overnight, and why Drake is the greatest rapper of all time. Shoutout to Chicago and Atlanta's up and coming R&B artist SingerSlime for coming on my show for an interview! SingerSlime talked about his new single I Want You, his conversations with Bleu, and the singles that he plans on rolling out soon. He got into what he learned from his sister Whitney Reign, being in the studio at a young age with his sister and acts such as Brandy, and what he learned from the business side of things from his sister as well. Thank you to 2x Grammy Nominated R&B Singer and Songwriter Eric Roberson for coming on my show for an interview! Eric talked about his new album Lessons, his new book Lessons: 100 Thoughts on Life & Love, and when he started to believe that God was teaching him lessons at certain points of his life. He discussed his experience at Howard University's musical theater program, his deal with Warner Records and Island Records falling through, and how going back to college changed him as a person/artist. He got into being independent for 21 years with his own label B.L.U.E. ERRO SOUL, being on tour with El DeBarge, and paying homage to Kenny Greene on his song All I Want off of his new album Lessons. He also talked about teaching at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, the importance of picking up the pen on his worst days, and the two new books that he is currently working on. Big thank you to Miami, Florida's own Zoey Dollaz for coming on my show for an interview! Zoey talked about the significance of the title of his new Thank You For Doubting Me EP, signing a bad deal early on in his career, and his experience freestyling for Funk Flex. He discussed being inspired by New York Hip-Hop artists such as: Jay-Z, Lloyd Banks, Big L, AZ, and 50 Cent, his first interest being R&B, and working with Chris Brown on their hit song Post & Delete. He got into Jim Jones serving as his mentor, being kicked out of high school and going back to get his diploma for his mom, and how being shot a few years ago changed his outlook on life. He spoke about meeting Jay-Z twice, Allen Iverson being a fan of his music, and how he was talking to XXXTENTACION on the phone 15 minutes before he was tragically killed. Zoey also got into how he considered giving up around the time of his album Last Year Being Humble, signing with Future and L.A. Reid, and remembering the late great DJ KaySlay. Big thank you to Hip-Hop and R&B royalty CJ Wallace for coming on my show for an interview! CJ discussed carrying on his father, The Notorious B.I.G.'s legacy, portraying his father in his childhood in the 2009 Notorious biopic, and being interested in becoming a film director. He talked about today's Hip-Hop scene, Benny the Butcher adding 10 More Commandments to his father's classic song Ten Crack Commandments, and not letting people pressure him into following in his father's footsteps to mainly be a Hip-Hop artist. He spoke about 2Pac and gave his thoughts on the unfortunate beef between him and his father, in which he thinks it was the people they were surrounded by that escalated the tension. CJ also got into his THINK BIG movement that is fighting for the legalization of cannabis, police and criminal justice reform, and economic reinvestment into the communities that are harmed cannabis prohibition. Shoutout to Rouyn-Noranda, Northwestern Quebec's own Zach Zoya for coming on my show for an interview! Zach discussed his upcoming No Love Is Ever Wasted EP, getting his start with 7ième Ciel, and signing with Universal Music Canada. He talked about the Black Lives Matter movement changing his perspective and seeing life through a different lens, being from a white town. He got into playing hockey and giving it up for a music career. Zach spoke about his Spectrum EP, displaying his range musically and emotionally on that project, and what his idea of happiness is when making it. He also spoke about Drake's struggle to make it despite having a Lil Wayne co-sign, having a record in the vault with Nate Husser, and possibly continuing his DAYZZ OFF series. Shoutout to Brooklyn, New York's own Willy Flee for coming on my show for an interview! Willy Flee discussed his early life of growing up in New York, playing basketball in high school, and receiving college invitations for their basketball teams. He talked about starting out with the name Pretty Boy J, why he changed his name to Willy Flee, and making the move to Florida. He got into opening for Juicy J, Travis Scott, Future, and Cardi B. Thank you to Memphis’ own Fresco Trey for coming on my show for an interview! We opened the show discussing the tragic mass elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas yesterday and that this country needs strict gun control laws. Fresco discussed his new project Heartbreak Diaries, signing to Warner Records, and working with Vory. He talked about his father being his manager, having a close relationship with Penny Hardaway, and Post Malone taking him on tour in Los Angeles. He got into being from Memphis and the D1 colleges that offered him scholarships to play basketball. He also talked about being a songwriter for different artists, including writing for Meek Mill’s Expensive Pain. He also got into why he resonated with part 1 of the Jeen-Yuhs Kanye West documentary, meeting Mike Boyd & Gary Vee, and his upcoming single that he plans to release in the next week or two.
