DJ Mad Max is working to bridge the gap between old & new school Hip-Hop through his show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max. With his vast Hip-Hop knowledge and unique interview style, he is introducing his generation to the legends that started it all. The show features a wide variety of guest stars including Hip-Hop artists of the past & present, R&B artists, producers/DJs, industry managers, and even pro athletes. When possible guest rappers bless the show with a freestyle. Max likes to mix it up and talk sports with his Hip-Hop guests, and Hip-Hop with his sports guests.

Big thank you to Brooklyn, New York’s own Kota the Friend for coming on my show for an interview! Kota talked about his new album MEMO, why it is his last album for awhile, and his upcoming Flight Night (NYC) shows at Sony Hall. He discussed the importance of his song Father’s Day, how each generation of father’s should be better than the last, and attending the Brooklyn High School of the Arts as well as going to Five Towns College for Trumpet. He got into starting out finding his style on Jay-Z In My Lifetime instrumentals, outselling headliners in Los Angeles, and when he understood his self-worth, in which he wanted to stay independent. Kota also talked about his Free Not Woke Podcast, Johnny Depp winning his case against Amber Heard bringing closure to what he faced in the past on social media, and what he has learned from going to therapy.

Shoutout to Brooklyn's own R&B singer and songwriter Tony Thames for coming on my show for an interview! Tony discussed wanting to be a walk on for the University of Maryland's basketball team, suffering from a serious ankle injury in 2007, and his transition to music. He talked about starting out wanting to create rock music, making R&B, and moving out to Los Angeles as well as selling beats to survive out there. He got into having an unreleased song with 50 Cent, accepting that success doesn't happen overnight, and why Drake is the greatest rapper of all time. Thank you to Atlanta, Georgia's own DJ Scream for coming on my show for an interview! DJ Scream talked about getting his start as a DJ, going on tour with Montell Jordan and building Hoodrich Entertainment & Hoodrich Radio. He discussed signing a label deal with Rick Ross and what Ross taught him about the business side of music as well as attending Tuskegee, where he majored in engineering. He got into his hit mixtapes, Shawty Lo introducing him to Rocko, in which he met Future at the very beginning of his career. DJ Scream also spoke about his hit show Big Facts getting picked up by REVOLT TV, expanding the show to Big Facts Friday, and his definition of making it in the music/entertainment industry.

Thank you to 2x Grammy Nominated R&B Singer and Songwriter Eric Roberson for coming on my show for an interview! Eric talked about his new album Lessons, his new book Lessons: 100 Thoughts on Life & Love, and when he started to believe that God was teaching him lessons at certain points of his life. He discussed his experience at Howard University's musical theater program, his deal with Warner Records and Island Records falling through, and how going back to college changed him as a person/artist. He got into being independent for 21 years with his own label B.L.U.E. ERRO SOUL, being on tour with El DeBarge, and paying homage to Kenny Greene on his song All I Want off of his new album Lessons. He also talked about teaching at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, the importance of picking up the pen on his worst days, and the two new books that he is currently working on. Thank you to Memphis’ own Fresco Trey for coming on my show for an interview! We opened the show discussing the tragic mass elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas yesterday and that this country needs strict gun control laws. Fresco discussed his new project Heartbreak Diaries, signing to Warner Records, and working with Vory. He talked about his father being his manager, having a close relationship with Penny Hardaway, and Post Malone taking him on tour in Los Angeles. He got into being from Memphis and the D1 colleges that offered him scholarships to play basketball. He also talked about being a songwriter for different artists, including writing for Meek Mill’s Expensive Pain. He also got into why he resonated with part 1 of the Jeen-Yuhs Kanye West documentary, meeting Mike Boyd & Gary Vee, and his upcoming single that he plans to release in the next week or two. Big thank you to Source Award and NAACP Image Award winning, film directing, producing, and screenwriting duo Coodie & Chike for coming on my show for an interview! Coodie & Chike discussed the success and reception of their Jeen-Yuhs Kanye West Netflix documentary. They got into earning Kanye's trust in order to release this documentary, starting to document his story when Hoop Dreams released, and putting his Through the Wire music video together. Coodie talked about attending Northern Illinois University for one semester, getting into media business through his sister Tonia, and creating Channel Zero in Chicago. Chike talked about majoring in motion graphics at Savannah College of Art and Design, wanting to make music videos from the beginning, and meeting both Kanye & Coodie while he was working for MTV. They spoke about creating their own production company Creative Control, creating the ESPN 30 for 30 Benji documentary, and putting together Stephon Marbury's documentary A Kid From Coney Island. Coodie & Chike also spoke about Donda West, their friendship with Kanye, and their next documentary covering the legendary painter Ernie Barnes. Thank you to super producer, 2015 Global Spin Award winner, and 1/2 of The Cool Kids Chuck Inglish for coming on my show for an interview! Chuck discussed his/The Cool Kids’ new albums BABY OIL STAIRCASE / CHILLOUT and BEFORE SHIT GOT WEIRD. He talked about his love of sneakers, his early life of growing up in Detroit, and wanting to play football at Michigan. He got into wanting to be an actor, auditioning for Ice Cube in Straight Outta Compton, and acting in Widows with Viola Davis and Liam Neeson. He also talked about The Cool Kids breaking up because the industry was sucking the fun out of the collaboration, getting back together with Sir Michael Rocks, and if fame is overrated. He also got into his relationship with the late great Mac Miller, social media being the focal point of the music industry right now, and that prominent artists work regular jobs behind the scenes. Chuck announced that The Cool Kids have a new album called Hi-Top Fade and a movie in the works. Stay tuned!

Big thank you to multi-platinum rock artist and songwriter Kevin Rudolf for coming on my show for an interview! Kevin talked about his early life of growing up on the upper east side of New York, his father being a DJ and mother being a rock singer, and being signed to Madonna's record label Maverick. He discussed moving to Miami, working with Timbaland, and signing to Cash Money. He got into the story behind his hit song Let It Rock and not knowing the radio impact that it would have. He spoke about having creative freedom at Cash Money, meeting Drake for the first time, and his vision of making it in the industry with his follow up hit song I Made It with Cash Money Heroes. He also got into working with Nas on his song N.Y.C., having to change his name to Space Rock due to a contract situation with Cash Money, and signing to Primary Wave Music. He gave his thoughts on rock artists' criticism of hip-hop artists making it into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Kevin then talked about going out to LA to write with artists such as Keith Urban and Selena Gomez, coming back to New York and feeling inspired to create his own music again, and his new music with Lil Wayne. He announced that he is working on his own hybrid memoir novel. Stay tuned!

Thank you to West Philly's own DJ Aktive for coming on my show for an interview! DJ Aktive talked about growing up in West Philly, meeting Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff for the first time, and receiving his first set of turntables. He discussed interning at Power 99 FM, getting his start of touring with Musiq Soulchild, and becoming Janet Jackson's tour DJ. He got into auditioning in Puff Daddy's living room to be the Bad Boy Reunion tour DJ, Kanye getting strict with him for his scratches on the 808s & Heartbreak Tour, and Nas calling him out in the middle of a performance because he didn't know the words to one of the songs on Stillmatic. He also talked about him and Nas discussing a song together for Aktive's upcoming album Chill Vibes Vol. 1, his 2019 debut album The Tour, and DJing for NBC's That's My Jam with Jimmy Fallon. DJ Aktive mentioned that he wants to open up The Philadelphia DJ school to help the youth learn how to DJ and to teach them the history of Hip-Hop. Shoutout to Richmond, Virginia's own Fly Anakin for coming on my show for an interview! Fly Anakin talked about his new album Frank, why he considers this album to be his debut, and the music scene in Richmond, Virginia. He discussed his uncle introducing him to The Notorious B.I.G. and Scarface. He spoke about his uncle hearing his music in jail. He got into meeting Henny L.O. in middle school and designing the Mutant Academy logo. He also talked about why Ghostface Killah is the best member of the Wu-Tang Clan, wanting to change his name Fly Anakin, and possibly getting into acting as well as doing voiceover work.
