DJ Mad Max is working to bridge the gap between old & new school Hip-Hop through his show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max. With his vast Hip-Hop knowledge and unique interview style, he is introducing his generation to the legends that started it all. The show features a wide variety of guest stars including Hip-Hop artists of the past & present, R&B artists, producers/DJs, industry managers, and even pro athletes. When possible guest rappers bless the show with a freestyle. Max likes to mix it up and talk sports with his Hip-Hop guests, and Hip-Hop with his sports guests.

Shoutout to the underground comedy legend TK Kirkland for coming back on my show for an interview! TK talked about the recent mass shootings that have been occurring, why the news should stop reporting the shootings, and that AR-15's need to be banned. He discussed Al Hammond putting him on tour with acts such as: Keith Sweat, Teena Marie, and Bobby Brown and how those opportunities opened up the door for him to meet Eazy-E to open up for N.W.A. He got into there needing to be more security at comedy clubs following the incident that occurred with the person that rushed the stage when Dave Chappelle was performing. TK spoke about wanting to write a memoir, Faizon Love helping him from catching a charge, and managing Sandra Bullock with Artists You Management back in the day. Stay tuned!

Thank you to 2x Grammy Nominated R&B Singer and Songwriter Eric Roberson for coming on my show for an interview! Eric talked about his new album Lessons, his new book Lessons: 100 Thoughts on Life & Love, and when he started to believe that God was teaching him lessons at certain points of his life. He discussed his experience at Howard University's musical theater program, his deal with Warner Records and Island Records falling through, and how going back to college changed him as a person/artist. He got into being independent for 21 years with his own label B.L.U.E. ERRO SOUL, being on tour with El DeBarge, and paying homage to Kenny Greene on his song All I Want off of his new album Lessons. He also talked about teaching at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, the importance of picking up the pen on his worst days, and the two new books that he is currently working on. Thank you to Compton, California and Atlanta's own Bambi aka The Bam for coming on my show for an interview! Bambi talked about her introduction to Hip-Hop, minoring in theater, and becoming an extra on the hit TV show Ugly Betty. She discussed meeting Lil Scrappy in ATL, why she kind of regrets doing Love & Hip Hop, and the difficulty of cameras filming what is going on in her personal life. She also got into what we can expect from her upcoming EP, her thoughts on reality TV shows before and after being apart of them, and her Shimmer Life clothing line.

Big thank you to Brooklyn, New York's own Maino for coming on my show for an interview! Maino discussed the new Lobby Boyz album, his I slap box the devil at night reference on the Lobby Boyz Anthem, and when he formed a brotherhood with Jim Jones to create their duo. He talked about the personal stories he told on the song Project Baby off of The Lobby Boyz album, how DJ Kay Slay helped him early on in his career, and Cormega putting him on Monsters Ball, in which that was the first album he was ever featured on. He got into his time with Universal Records, Tone from Trackmasters helping him get signed, and the story with Birdman being the reason why he left Atlantic Records. Maino spoke about portraying the shooter who shot 2Pac in the All Eyes On Me movie at Quad Studios, writing a show with his late friend Michael K Williams before he passed, and being the first NYC artist to work with Nipsey Hussle. Big thank you to Miami, Florida's own Zoey Dollaz for coming on my show for an interview! Zoey talked about the significance of the title of his new Thank You For Doubting Me EP, signing a bad deal early on in his career, and his experience freestyling for Funk Flex. He discussed being inspired by New York Hip-Hop artists such as: Jay-Z, Lloyd Banks, Big L, AZ, and 50 Cent, his first interest being R&B, and working with Chris Brown on their hit song Post & Delete. He got into Jim Jones serving as his mentor, being kicked out of high school and going back to get his diploma for his mom, and how being shot a few years ago changed his outlook on life. He spoke about meeting Jay-Z twice, Allen Iverson being a fan of his music, and how he was talking to XXXTENTACION on the phone 15 minutes before he was tragically killed. Zoey also got into how he considered giving up around the time of his album Last Year Being Humble, signing with Future and L.A. Reid, and remembering the late great DJ KaySlay. Big thank you to Hip-Hop and R&B royalty CJ Wallace for coming on my show for an interview! CJ discussed carrying on his father, The Notorious B.I.G.'s legacy, portraying his father in his childhood in the 2009 Notorious biopic, and being interested in becoming a film director. He talked about today's Hip-Hop scene, Benny the Butcher adding 10 More Commandments to his father's classic song Ten Crack Commandments, and not letting people pressure him into following in his father's footsteps to mainly be a Hip-Hop artist. He spoke about 2Pac and gave his thoughts on the unfortunate beef between him and his father, in which he thinks it was the people they were surrounded by that escalated the tension. CJ also got into his THINK BIG movement that is fighting for the legalization of cannabis, police and criminal justice reform, and economic reinvestment into the communities that are harmed cannabis prohibition. Big thank you to NBA legend and author Muggsy Bogues for coming on my show for an interview! Muggsy talked about his new book Muggsy: My Life from a Kid in the Projects to The Godfather Of Small Ball, getting his first basketball at the age of 3, and the rec center in Baltimore being the beginning of his basketball career. He discussed being shot at 5 years old and how that changed his mindset for when he was bullied for being short. He got into being apart of the greatest high school basketball team of all time with The Dunbar Poets from 1981 to 1983, setting ACC records at Wake Forest University, and winning a gold medal for the USA national team in the 1986 FIBA World Championship. Muggsy spoke about being drafted 12th overall in the 1987 draft to the Washington Bullets, his friendship with the late great Manute Bol, and his time with the Charlotte Hornets. He also talked about guarding Michael Jordan, being traded to the Warriors as well as seeing Latrell Sprewell choke coach P.J. Carlesimo, and being a leader for both Vince Carter & Tracy McGrady when he went to the Toronto Raptors. Muggsy gave his thoughts on the current state of the Hornets, LaMelo Ball, and if he would accept a head coaching job in the NBA.
If you are a huge NBA fan, I highly recommend you go and read Muggsy's new book. You will not put it down once you start reading it. He is a true inspiration.

Thank you to Memphis’ own Fresco Trey for coming on my show for an interview! We opened the show discussing the tragic mass elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas yesterday and that this country needs strict gun control laws. Fresco discussed his new project Heartbreak Diaries, signing to Warner Records, and working with Vory. He talked about his father being his manager, having a close relationship with Penny Hardaway, and Post Malone taking him on tour in Los Angeles. He got into being from Memphis and the D1 colleges that offered him scholarships to play basketball. He also talked about being a songwriter for different artists, including writing for Meek Mill’s Expensive Pain. He also got into why he resonated with part 1 of the Jeen-Yuhs Kanye West documentary, meeting Mike Boyd & Gary Vee, and his upcoming single that he plans to release in the next week or two. Big thank you to Source Award and NAACP Image Award winning, film directing, producing, and screenwriting duo Coodie & Chike for coming on my show for an interview! Coodie & Chike discussed the success and reception of their Jeen-Yuhs Kanye West Netflix documentary. They got into earning Kanye's trust in order to release this documentary, starting to document his story when Hoop Dreams released, and putting his Through the Wire music video together. Coodie talked about attending Northern Illinois University for one semester, getting into media business through his sister Tonia, and creating Channel Zero in Chicago. Chike talked about majoring in motion graphics at Savannah College of Art and Design, wanting to make music videos from the beginning, and meeting both Kanye & Coodie while he was working for MTV. They spoke about creating their own production company Creative Control, creating the ESPN 30 for 30 Benji documentary, and putting together Stephon Marbury's documentary A Kid From Coney Island. Coodie & Chike also spoke about Donda West, their friendship with Kanye, and their next documentary covering the legendary painter Ernie Barnes. Thank you to super producer, 2015 Global Spin Award winner, and 1/2 of The Cool Kids Chuck Inglish for coming on my show for an interview! Chuck discussed his/The Cool Kids’ new albums BABY OIL STAIRCASE / CHILLOUT and BEFORE SHIT GOT WEIRD. He talked about his love of sneakers, his early life of growing up in Detroit, and wanting to play football at Michigan. He got into wanting to be an actor, auditioning for Ice Cube in Straight Outta Compton, and acting in Widows with Viola Davis and Liam Neeson. He also talked about The Cool Kids breaking up because the industry was sucking the fun out of the collaboration, getting back together with Sir Michael Rocks, and if fame is overrated. He also got into his relationship with the late great Mac Miller, social media being the focal point of the music industry right now, and that prominent artists work regular jobs behind the scenes. Chuck announced that The Cool Kids have a new album called Hi-Top Fade and a movie in the works. Stay tuned!
