DJ Mad Max is working to bridge the gap between old & new school Hip-Hop through his show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max. With his vast Hip-Hop knowledge and unique interview style, he is introducing his generation to the legends that started it all. The show features a wide variety of guest stars including Hip-Hop artists of the past & present, R&B artists, producers/DJs, industry managers, and even pro athletes. When possible guest rappers bless the show with a freestyle. Max likes to mix it up and talk sports with his Hip-Hop guests, and Hip-Hop with his sports guests.

Big thank you to Miami, Florida's own Zoey Dollaz for coming on my show for an interview! Zoey talked about the significance of the title of his new Thank You For Doubting Me EP, signing a bad deal early on in his career, and his experience freestyling for Funk Flex. He discussed being inspired by New York Hip-Hop artists such as: Jay-Z, Lloyd Banks, Big L, AZ, and 50 Cent, his first interest being R&B, and working with Chris Brown on their hit song Post & Delete. He got into Jim Jones serving as his mentor, being kicked out of high school and going back to get his diploma for his mom, and how being shot a few years ago changed his outlook on life. He spoke about meeting Jay-Z twice, Allen Iverson being a fan of his music, and how he was talking to XXXTENTACION on the phone 15 minutes before he was tragically killed. Zoey also got into how he considered giving up around the time of his album Last Year Being Humble, signing with Future and L.A. Reid, and remembering the late great DJ KaySlay. Big thank you to Hip-Hop and R&B royalty CJ Wallace for coming on my show for an interview! CJ discussed carrying on his father, The Notorious B.I.G.'s legacy, portraying his father in his childhood in the 2009 Notorious biopic, and being interested in becoming a film director. He talked about today's Hip-Hop scene, Benny the Butcher adding 10 More Commandments to his father's classic song Ten Crack Commandments, and not letting people pressure him into following in his father's footsteps to mainly be a Hip-Hop artist. He spoke about 2Pac and gave his thoughts on the unfortunate beef between him and his father, in which he thinks it was the people they were surrounded by that escalated the tension. CJ also got into his THINK BIG movement that is fighting for the legalization of cannabis, police and criminal justice reform, and economic reinvestment into the communities that are harmed cannabis prohibition. Big thank you to NBA legend and author Muggsy Bogues for coming on my show for an interview! Muggsy talked about his new book Muggsy: My Life from a Kid in the Projects to The Godfather Of Small Ball, getting his first basketball at the age of 3, and the rec center in Baltimore being the beginning of his basketball career. He discussed being shot at 5 years old and how that changed his mindset for when he was bullied for being short. He got into being apart of the greatest high school basketball team of all time with The Dunbar Poets from 1981 to 1983, setting ACC records at Wake Forest University, and winning a gold medal for the USA national team in the 1986 FIBA World Championship. Muggsy spoke about being drafted 12th overall in the 1987 draft to the Washington Bullets, his friendship with the late great Manute Bol, and his time with the Charlotte Hornets. He also talked about guarding Michael Jordan, being traded to the Warriors as well as seeing Latrell Sprewell choke coach P.J. Carlesimo, and being a leader for both Vince Carter & Tracy McGrady when he went to the Toronto Raptors. Muggsy gave his thoughts on the current state of the Hornets, LaMelo Ball, and if he would accept a head coaching job in the NBA.
If you are a huge NBA fan, I highly recommend you go and read Muggsy's new book. You will not put it down once you start reading it. He is a true inspiration.

Big thank you to Source Award and NAACP Image Award winning, film directing, producing, and screenwriting duo Coodie & Chike for coming on my show for an interview! Coodie & Chike discussed the success and reception of their Jeen-Yuhs Kanye West Netflix documentary. They got into earning Kanye's trust in order to release this documentary, starting to document his story when Hoop Dreams released, and putting his Through the Wire music video together. Coodie talked about attending Northern Illinois University for one semester, getting into media business through his sister Tonia, and creating Channel Zero in Chicago. Chike talked about majoring in motion graphics at Savannah College of Art and Design, wanting to make music videos from the beginning, and meeting both Kanye & Coodie while he was working for MTV. They spoke about creating their own production company Creative Control, creating the ESPN 30 for 30 Benji documentary, and putting together Stephon Marbury's documentary A Kid From Coney Island. Coodie & Chike also spoke about Donda West, their friendship with Kanye, and their next documentary covering the legendary painter Ernie Barnes. Thank you to super producer, 2015 Global Spin Award winner, and 1/2 of The Cool Kids Chuck Inglish for coming on my show for an interview! Chuck discussed his/The Cool Kids’ new albums BABY OIL STAIRCASE / CHILLOUT and BEFORE SHIT GOT WEIRD. He talked about his love of sneakers, his early life of growing up in Detroit, and wanting to play football at Michigan. He got into wanting to be an actor, auditioning for Ice Cube in Straight Outta Compton, and acting in Widows with Viola Davis and Liam Neeson. He also talked about The Cool Kids breaking up because the industry was sucking the fun out of the collaboration, getting back together with Sir Michael Rocks, and if fame is overrated. He also got into his relationship with the late great Mac Miller, social media being the focal point of the music industry right now, and that prominent artists work regular jobs behind the scenes. Chuck announced that The Cool Kids have a new album called Hi-Top Fade and a movie in the works. Stay tuned!

Big thank you to Carol City’s own Gunplay for coming on my show for an interview! Gunplay discussed his new album ALL B******t Aside, his studio session with Jim Jones for their song Oath, and having his own independent label distribution deal as well as ANML SHLTR. He talked about his early life of being born in El Paso, Texas, growing up in New York during the crack epidemic, and moving to Carol City. He got into meeting Rick Ross when he was in 10th grade, building Maybach Music with him, and the difficult hurdles he went through when the foundation of MMG was being built. He spoke about why he felt comfortable opening up about his overdose on drugs the day that DMX died, meeting DMX, and the studio session between him and Busta Rhymes. He mentioned that his song with the legendary Hip-Hop duo Capone-N-Noreaga will be releasing on his upcoming album. He also talked about his collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on their song Cartoon & Cereal, his collaboration with A$AP Rocky on Ghetto Symphony, and being backstage on tour with Jay-Z & Beyoncé in Dublin, Ireland. Gunplay also discussed his upcoming podcast about fishing and hunting, wanting to get into film, and being able to tour internationally soon. Stay tuned!

Thank you to upcoming superstar basketball player and emcee Flau'jae for coming on my show for an interview! Flau'jae talked about getting her distribution deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation, committing to the LSU Tigers women's basketball team, and wanting to minor in business. She got into breaking the barrier of being just known as Camoflauge's daughter, seeing similarities between her and her late great father, and Boosie Badazz looking out for her. She also got into appearing on Jermaine Dupri's season 3 of The Rap Game, how she wasn't supposed to appear on The Rap Game originally, and performing on season 13 of NBC's America's Got Talent. Flau'jae discussed getting to know her coach Kim Mulkey, being named MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic, and her upcoming reality show with her mom on E! Big thank you to multi-platinum rock artist and songwriter Kevin Rudolf for coming on my show for an interview! Kevin talked about his early life of growing up on the upper east side of New York, his father being a DJ and mother being a rock singer, and being signed to Madonna's record label Maverick. He discussed moving to Miami, working with Timbaland, and signing to Cash Money. He got into the story behind his hit song Let It Rock and not knowing the radio impact that it would have. He spoke about having creative freedom at Cash Money, meeting Drake for the first time, and his vision of making it in the industry with his follow up hit song I Made It with Cash Money Heroes. He also got into working with Nas on his song N.Y.C., having to change his name to Space Rock due to a contract situation with Cash Money, and signing to Primary Wave Music. He gave his thoughts on rock artists' criticism of hip-hop artists making it into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Kevin then talked about going out to LA to write with artists such as Keith Urban and Selena Gomez, coming back to New York and feeling inspired to create his own music again, and his new music with Lil Wayne. He announced that he is working on his own hybrid memoir novel. Stay tuned!

Big thank you to the comedy legend TK Kirkland for coming on my show for an interview! TK Kirkland talked about opening up for acts such as: Patti LaBelle, N.W.A., DMX, The Whispers, MC Hammer, and Tone Loc. He discussed when he found his rapport on stage as a comedian, getting banned from the N.W.A. tour, and plans of him and Eazy-E starting Ruthless Comedy before Eazy-E passed away. He got into being selected for a scared straight program when he was younger, starting out doing skits in college at Arizona State, and raising money for Maxine Waters. He also talked about performing for 50 Cent and Eminem on MTV, Jay-Z performing at his birthday in Harlem in 1995 before Reasonable Doubt released, and working with Vin Diesel in the 1997 movie Strays. He closed out the show giving his reaction to and thoughts on the Will Smith Oscars incident as well as what he has coming up in the near future. Stay tuned!

He got into the aftermath of Eazy-E's death, his lyrics being removed from Bone Thugs' songs, and opening up about going against all odds in his upcoming memoir. Flesh spoke about Mo Thugs, putting together a new collaboration album for Mo Thugs, and the recording session with Fat Joe and Big Pun for his song No Mercy on his debut album T.H.U.G.S. (Trues Humbly United Gatherin' Souls). He also got into his collaboration with Rev. Run of Run-DMC on his song World So Cruel, his unfortunate prison sentence, and his new comedy sketch TV show called Fun Howse.
