DJ Mad Max is working to bridge the gap between old & new school Hip-Hop through his show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max. With his vast Hip-Hop knowledge and unique interview style, he is introducing his generation to the legends that started it all. The show features a wide variety of guest stars including Hip-Hop artists of the past & present, R&B artists, producers/DJs, industry managers, and even pro athletes. When possible guest rappers bless the show with a freestyle. Max likes to mix it up and talk sports with his Hip-Hop guests, and Hip-Hop with his sports guests.

Big thank you to the legendary actor and director Bill Duke for coming on my show for an interview! Bill talked about the racism he endured in his early life, winning awards for his poetry, and his experience of growing up in Poughkeepsie, New York. He got into his time in college attending Boston University, New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, and the renowned AFI Conservatory, where he learned about film-making. We went over his work on Broadway, his first major role as Abdullah Mohammed Akbar aka Duane in Car Wash, and working alongside Richard Gere as Leon in American Gigolo. Bill is a major part of history as he is one of the first black directors, especially in television as he had his time directing for Dallas, Miami Vice, and The Twilight Zone. In 1985, he starred in Commando as Cooke alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Alyssa Milano. He talked about his fight scene with Arnold in Commando during the motel scene. He then got into his role as Sergeant Mac in Predator, how Kevin Peter Hall was not the first person to play the Predator in the film, and working with Carl Weathers once again a year later in Action Jackson. We discussed his most famous scene in cinema history in Menace II Society with Tyrin Turner as a detective where he has the famous line, "You know you done fucked up". We also got into his role as Levar in Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Despite his acting career, we went over his work as a director that includes Deep Cover, A Rage in Harlem, Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, and Hoodlum. He recently released his book titled Bill Duke: My 40-Year Career on Screen and Behind the Camera and announced that he has two more books on the way. We also got into his Duke Media Foundation and how he helps the youth with his classes regarding acting and film-making. Bill mentioned that he wants to cast Snoop Dogg in one of his upcoming works. He also just started his own network called the Unite Network that helps bring people together. Thank you Bill Duke for making history and all that you have done for TV & film.

Big thank you to the Love King of R&B Raheem DeVaughn for coming on my show for an interview! Raheem DeVaughn discussed working with legendary hip hop producer Apollo Brown for their new album Lovesick, bringing the hip hop beats back with the R&B vocals, and his upcoming song that he will be releasing soon written by Babyface. He got into the making of Lovesick and his definition of the album's name. He talked about his Grammy nominations and winning multiple BET Awards. Raheem got into his legendary collaborations, working with Skyzoo, and where he ranks this album in his discography. Big thank you to the Hip-Hop legend and N.W.A.'s own DJ Yella for calling into my show for an interview! Yella discussed his brand new book "Straight Outta Compton: My Untold Story", starting out in a group with Dr. Dre called World Class Wreckin' Cru, and how N.W.A. formed. He talked about his most memorable stories and moments with Eazy-E. He got into the Straight Outta Compton movie and that it was 70% truthful. He gave his thoughts on how Neil Brown Jr. played his character to a tee. He also talked about being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and how he feels about the rock stars who criticize rappers who are in the hall of fame. Yella got into being the only N.W.A. member at Eazy-E's funeral and the day Eazy was buried he decided that he was done making music. He also told the story of meeting Bone Thugs-N-Harmony for the first time and spoke about his music production that he is most proud of out of all of his work. Thank you to Brooklyn, NY's own Skyzoo for coming on my show for an interview! Skyzoo discussed his new album All the Brilliant Things, the gentrification that has been taking place in Brooklyn, gentrification in Hip-Hop, and his reaction to people calling his first album The Salvation a classic. He got into his well-known stories of when he could not go to a Ruff Ryders session with DMX, The Lox, and Eve when he was a teenager due to watching his younger brother and giving his demo tape to a Bad Boy Records member at a local store. He talked about his friendship with Tyrese and going to Mary J. Blige's house with him. Skyzoo also spoke about Charlamagne Tha God being his cousin. He also talked about the many legends that he has worked with including: DJ Premier, Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, Diamond D, and Talib Kweli. We closed out the show talking about his Knicks fandom as well as what the team should do in the offseason.

Huge thank you to the legendary and iconic actor John Amos for coming on my show for an interview! John Amos talked about his early life of growing up in East Orange, New Jersey, attending Colorado State University, and his involvement in both the NFL & boxing. He got into getting into the acting show business, starting out as Gordy Howard on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, his most memorable moments on Good Times as James Evans, and landing the role of Kunta Kinte in the hit series Roots. He discussed his true number one passion of being a live performer and experience of being on Broadway. He got into Coming to America, working with Eddie Murphy, and reprising his role as Cleo McDowell in Coming 2 America. He recently stared in a film called Because of Charley and talked about how the film was made during the pandemic. He also created a children's book that released in 2017 called A World Without Color. He ended the show talking about his role in George A Romero's Two Evil Eyes and what it was like working with one of the greatest horror movie creators of all time. Big thank you to Hip-Hop legend and the Wu-Tang Clan's own CappaDonna for coming on my show for an interview! CappaDonna talked about his new album Black Tarrzann, the criticism that he got off of the album cover, and the upcoming albums that he is working on. He told the stories behind the video shoots of Ice Cream and Triumph. He got into how it felt performing with Method Man at his Verzuz with Redman and Method Man acknowledging that if it was not for CappaDonna he would not be rapping. Big thank you to the legendary and WBLS' Mr. Quiet Storm Lenny Green for coming on my show for an interview! Lenny Green began the show talking about originally wanting to be the second Michael Jackson, starting his radio career at Kingsborough Community College's radio station, and eventually doing radio in New Haven, CT. He talked about how he landed his show on 98.7 KISS FM and hosting his legendary show The Quiet Storm on WBLS on 107.5. He voiced his opinion on today's R&B and why the sound has drastically changed from back in the day. We discussed his legendary interviews with Smokey Robinson, R. Kelly, Keith Sweat, and the Jackson 5 as well as the album that he believes defines 90s R&B. Lenny is currently working on a book and will be putting a documentary together in the future! Big thank you to Power 105.1's DJ Suss One for coming on my show for an interview! Suss One talked about his start in the music industry as an intern at Sony Music, starting out in radio at Power 104.1 in Hartford, CT., and landing his show on Power 105.1. He mentioned being inspired and growing up in the DJ mixtape era. He spoke about his interest of creating movies, specifically horror, and his company The Feature Presentation Studios. We went over the classic horror movies from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s & how the 80s were the golden age for horror and slasher films. We got into how the radio industry has changed and how it has become more of a business as well as the true New York Hip-Hop sound not being played on New York Hip-Hop FM radio stations. Suss One has a lot on the way as far as content for his show and horror movie scripts. You can catch him mixing live on The Wendy Williams Show as well as live on Power 105.1 on Saturdays from 10am-2pm est and Sundays from 4-8pm est & 10pm-2am est.

Thank you to DJ Wonder for coming on my show for an interview! DJ Wonder talked about his start in radio, becoming a DJ, and starting out at Hot 97. He told the story of becoming the DJ and Producer for Sway in the Morning on Sirius XM on Shade 45. He spoke about his new podcast Complete Animals as well as his show AnimalStatus on Sirius XM on Shade 45 at 10pm est on Wednesdays and how he came up with the ideas for those shows. He got into his fandom of horror movies and how he celebrates the Halloween season in October. We also discussed the horrorcore genre of hip hop and why it may not be as popular as it once was.
