DJ Mad Max is working to bridge the gap between old & new school Hip-Hop through his show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max. With his vast Hip-Hop knowledge and unique interview style, he is introducing his generation to the legends that started it all. The show features a wide variety of guest stars including Hip-Hop artists of the past & present, R&B artists, producers/DJs, industry managers, and even pro athletes. When possible guest rappers bless the show with a freestyle. Max likes to mix it up and talk sports with his Hip-Hop guests, and Hip-Hop with his sports guests.

Shoutout to X.ILE for coming on the show for an interview for the fourth independent artist interview of Independent Artist Hour Spotlight with DJ Mad Max! X.ILE talked about his start as a DJ, producer, and hip hop artist. He got into signing with Mezz Entertainment. He spoke about his experience of DJing the opening sets for French Montana and The Chainsmokers at an event in NYC. He talked about his relationship with Lapse and creating his new single Hucci Shoes with him. X.ILE will be on the set at an event tomorrow 5/29/21 with DJ Suss One in Brooklyn. Big thank you to Power 105.1's DJ Suss One for coming on my show for an interview! Suss One talked about his start in the music industry as an intern at Sony Music, starting out in radio at Power 104.1 in Hartford, CT., and landing his show on Power 105.1. He mentioned being inspired and growing up in the DJ mixtape era. He spoke about his interest of creating movies, specifically horror, and his company The Feature Presentation Studios. We went over the classic horror movies from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s & how the 80s were the golden age for horror and slasher films. We got into how the radio industry has changed and how it has become more of a business as well as the true New York Hip-Hop sound not being played on New York Hip-Hop FM radio stations. Suss One has a lot on the way as far as content for his show and horror movie scripts. You can catch him mixing live on The Wendy Williams Show as well as live on Power 105.1 on Saturdays from 10am-2pm est and Sundays from 4-8pm est & 10pm-2am est.

Thank you to DJ Wonder for coming on my show for an interview! DJ Wonder talked about his start in radio, becoming a DJ, and starting out at Hot 97. He told the story of becoming the DJ and Producer for Sway in the Morning on Sirius XM on Shade 45. He spoke about his new podcast Complete Animals as well as his show AnimalStatus on Sirius XM on Shade 45 at 10pm est on Wednesdays and how he came up with the ideas for those shows. He got into his fandom of horror movies and how he celebrates the Halloween season in October. We also discussed the horrorcore genre of hip hop and why it may not be as popular as it once was.

Big thank you to Grammy Award winning legendary producer and emcee Diamond D of D.I.T.C. for returning to Sports and Hip-Hop! Diamond D talked about his new album with Talib Kweli called Gotham, the story behind his Best Kept Secret music video with Anthony Mason, and his reaction to being named in Daz Dillinger's Top 5 producers of all time. He told the story of playing songs for The Notorious B.I.G. before he passed away. We got into Big Pun's first record with Fat Joe called Watch Out produced by Diamond D off of Fat Joe's Jealous Ones Envy. He discussed his most recent albums The Diam Piece and The Diam Piece 2, especially his Bela Lugosi reference on Jose Feliciano off of The Diam Piece. Diamond D also revealed that there will be a Gotham 2 with Talib Kweli and he also is working on his solo albums The Rear View & The Diam Piece 3. The Rear View should be releasing this fall or winter and will feature Dre from Cool & Dre and Westside Gunn. Stay tuned!

Big thank you to Multi-Platinum BadBoy/Hitmen producer Amadeus for coming on my show for an interview! Amadeus talked about which record plaque of his means the most to him, his first placement being with Foxy Brown for her song My Life on the Cradle 2 the Grave soundtrack, and how he became the music director & tour drummer for Trey Songz. He got into his beginnings of producing as well including when he first starting playing the drums and legendary D.I.T.C. producer Buckwild serving as a mentor for him. He told the story of J.Lo calling him for the record that they made together called Same Girl off of her album A.K.A. He also discussed the work that he has done for VH1, BET, and ESPN including producing the two theme songs for First Take & the sounds during NFL games as well as NBA highlights. MC Serch talked about the start of his rap career, the beginnings of 3rd Bass, and the story behind the Sons of 3rd Bass (Beastie Boys Diss Song). Serch told a story about how him and MC Hammer could have squashed their beef as well as the story behind 3rd Bass' hit record Pop Goes The Weasel, the Vanilla Ice diss record. We discussed VH1 and Ego Trip's The White Rapper Show as well as Serch's new Serch Says Podcast. We also got into today's rap era and talked sports. Serch ended the show telling his only story about The Notorious B.I.G. and his stories with 2Pac.
