DJ Mad Max is working to bridge the gap between old & new school Hip-Hop through his show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max. With his vast Hip-Hop knowledge and unique interview style, he is introducing his generation to the legends that started it all. The show features a wide variety of guest stars including Hip-Hop artists of the past & present, R&B artists, producers/DJs, industry managers, and even pro athletes. When possible guest rappers bless the show with a freestyle. Max likes to mix it up and talk sports with his Hip-Hop guests, and Hip-Hop with his sports guests.

Thank you goes out to Raina Simone for coming on my show for an interview! Raina talked about her upcoming debut album Old Soul, New Conscience, J. Cole being the main inspiration for her rap career, and her experience of attending Howard University. She talked about her start in music and learning how to be a producer as well as being from Harlem and New Jersey. We got into the importance of the messages in her music of speaking about civil rights and police brutality. Thank you to Brooklyn, NY's own Skyzoo for coming on my show for an interview! Skyzoo discussed his new album All the Brilliant Things, the gentrification that has been taking place in Brooklyn, gentrification in Hip-Hop, and his reaction to people calling his first album The Salvation a classic. He got into his well-known stories of when he could not go to a Ruff Ryders session with DMX, The Lox, and Eve when he was a teenager due to watching his younger brother and giving his demo tape to a Bad Boy Records member at a local store. He talked about his friendship with Tyrese and going to Mary J. Blige's house with him. Skyzoo also spoke about Charlamagne Tha God being his cousin. He also talked about the many legends that he has worked with including: DJ Premier, Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, Diamond D, and Talib Kweli. We closed out the show talking about his Knicks fandom as well as what the team should do in the offseason.

Big thank you to the remix king DJ Tedsmooth for coming on my show for an interview! Tedsmooth discussed his upcoming remix of Jay-Z's debut album Reasonable Doubt called Remixable Doubt, DJing The Fat Joe Show on Friday nights on Instagram Live, and producing F vs. J Intro on Fabolous & Jadakiss' Friday on Elm Street album. He got into his accolades of winning "Remixer of the Year" 3 years in a row at the Global Spin Awards, getting a co-sign from DJ Funkmaster Flex, and Puff Daddy passing him the remix baton. He got into his show that he wants to have programmed on TV called "Behind The Speaker" where he interviews legendary DJs. Thank you to one of the nicest emcees there is and that is Milano Constantine for coming on my show for an interview! Milano talked about his newest albums Eating But Still Hungry with Showbiz and Write It in Blood with Body Bag Ben. He told the story of battling Big Pun and making the song Where Ya At with him. He also talked about the first time he met Big L and how he became affiliated with the legendary Hip-Hop group D.I.T.C. We analyzed the songs off of the albums, including the horror movie references and Broadway Joe. Milano talked about how Hip-Hop and horror are connected. He also looked back on his classic tracks Deal With A Feelin' and Rep For The Slums. He is currently working on Write It in Blood 2 as well as a new album with Showbiz.

Shoutout to X.ILE for coming on the show for an interview for the fourth independent artist interview of Independent Artist Hour Spotlight with DJ Mad Max! X.ILE talked about his start as a DJ, producer, and hip hop artist. He got into signing with Mezz Entertainment. He spoke about his experience of DJing the opening sets for French Montana and The Chainsmokers at an event in NYC. He talked about his relationship with Lapse and creating his new single Hucci Shoes with him. X.ILE will be on the set at an event tomorrow 5/29/21 with DJ Suss One in Brooklyn. Big thank you to Power 105.1's DJ Suss One for coming on my show for an interview! Suss One talked about his start in the music industry as an intern at Sony Music, starting out in radio at Power 104.1 in Hartford, CT., and landing his show on Power 105.1. He mentioned being inspired and growing up in the DJ mixtape era. He spoke about his interest of creating movies, specifically horror, and his company The Feature Presentation Studios. We went over the classic horror movies from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s & how the 80s were the golden age for horror and slasher films. We got into how the radio industry has changed and how it has become more of a business as well as the true New York Hip-Hop sound not being played on New York Hip-Hop FM radio stations. Suss One has a lot on the way as far as content for his show and horror movie scripts. You can catch him mixing live on The Wendy Williams Show as well as live on Power 105.1 on Saturdays from 10am-2pm est and Sundays from 4-8pm est & 10pm-2am est.

Thank you to DJ Wonder for coming on my show for an interview! DJ Wonder talked about his start in radio, becoming a DJ, and starting out at Hot 97. He told the story of becoming the DJ and Producer for Sway in the Morning on Sirius XM on Shade 45. He spoke about his new podcast Complete Animals as well as his show AnimalStatus on Sirius XM on Shade 45 at 10pm est on Wednesdays and how he came up with the ideas for those shows. He got into his fandom of horror movies and how he celebrates the Halloween season in October. We also discussed the horrorcore genre of hip hop and why it may not be as popular as it once was.

Big thank you to Grammy Award winning legendary producer and emcee Diamond D of D.I.T.C. for returning to Sports and Hip-Hop! Diamond D talked about his new album with Talib Kweli called Gotham, the story behind his Best Kept Secret music video with Anthony Mason, and his reaction to being named in Daz Dillinger's Top 5 producers of all time. He told the story of playing songs for The Notorious B.I.G. before he passed away. We got into Big Pun's first record with Fat Joe called Watch Out produced by Diamond D off of Fat Joe's Jealous Ones Envy. He discussed his most recent albums The Diam Piece and The Diam Piece 2, especially his Bela Lugosi reference on Jose Feliciano off of The Diam Piece. Diamond D also revealed that there will be a Gotham 2 with Talib Kweli and he also is working on his solo albums The Rear View & The Diam Piece 3. The Rear View should be releasing this fall or winter and will feature Dre from Cool & Dre and Westside Gunn. Stay tuned!
