DJ Mad Max is working to bridge the gap between old & new school Hip-Hop through his show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max. With his vast Hip-Hop knowledge and unique interview style, he is introducing his generation to the legends that started it all. The show features a wide variety of guest stars including Hip-Hop artists of the past & present, R&B artists, producers/DJs, industry managers, and even pro athletes. When possible guest rappers bless the show with a freestyle. Max likes to mix it up and talk sports with his Hip-Hop guests, and Hip-Hop with his sports guests.

I want to thank Dave East for coming on my show for an interview to talk about his new debut album Survival. Survival is available for purchase on all platforms. He discussed why he chose the title Survival, getting signed by Nas, and wanting his debut album to have a lasting impact on Hip-Hop like Nas' Illmatic, 2Pac's All Eyez On Me, and Big Pun's Capital Punishment. I want to thank Victor Carroll, Vietnam War Veteran and U.S. Marine, for calling into my show this past Monday night on WSJU Radio at St. John's University! Victor discussed his early life and growing up in Jersey City, NJ. He talked about getting drafted and going to boot camp. He discussed his time in Vietnam and doing two tours there. He spoke about the U.S. Marines today as well as how they are treated now compared to back then. He told me about the Veteran programs that he is involved in such as Hooks for Heroes. He also discussed a possible movie being made about his time in Vietnam. Most of all, thank you for your service for our country Victor Carroll!

I want to thank David Naughton for calling into my show this past week. David talked about what it was like growing up in Hartford, CT. He led the 80s Dr. Pepper commercials and their Be a Pepper campaign. He told his experience of what it was like acting in theater, television, and film. David talked about disco hit Makin It. He then discussed his hit role of David Kessler in John Landis' 1981 masterpiece An American Werewolf in London. He had a great time working with the legendary make-up/special effects artist Rick Baker on the scary face and werewolf transformation scenes. I want to thank the legendary Tony Todd for calling into my show. Tony is most famous for his role as Candyman. He was also in Platoon, Night of the Living Dead 1990, the Final Destination films, and countless other movies, television and broadway shows. I would like to thank Horror Icon Doug Bradley, who played Pinhead in the Hellraiser films, for calling into my show "Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max" on WSJU Radio at St. John's University this past Monday night! Doug talked about what it was like growing up in Liverpool, England, meeting Clive Barker in High School, and working with Clive on the masterpiece film Hellraiser. Doug discussed his most memorable moments playing Pinhead, including his favorite lines from the films. He described what pleasure and pain in the films meant and that everyone has their own interpretations of what those words mean to them. He talked about the makeup process for the film and that it took an average of 4-5 hours to put on. I want to thank actor and stuntman Don Shanks, who played Michael Myers in Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, for calling into my show "Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max" this past week! Don talked about becoming an actor/stuntman, his audition for Halloween 5, and playing the iconic horror movie slasher Michael Myers. He discussed what it was like working with Donald Pleasance and Danielle Harris. He described some scenes they shot for the film that did not make the final cut including the Dr. Death and murder of the SWAT team scenes.
