Big thank you to the 6x Grammy nominated R&B singer BJ the Chicago Kid for coming on my show for an interview! BJ discussed his new 4am EP, being independent, his friendship with fellow collaborator Eric Bellinger, and starting in the choir at a young age. At 19, he moved to Los Angeles, in which his first job was being a backup singer for the R&B duo Mary Mary. This led him to meeting and working with major artists such as: Mary J. Blige, Joe, and Mario. He talked about 2005 being an important year for his career when he was in the booth with Stevie Wonder and performed on stage with both James Brown & Usher at the Grammy Awards. He got into working with Kanye West on the song "Impossible" off of the Mission Impossible 3 Soundtrack and working with Dr. Dre in the studio for the song It's All On Me off of Compton. He reflected on being apart of ScHoolboy Q's hit song Studio and receiving a Grammy nomination for it. He announced that he is currently mixing and mastering his next album. Stay tuned!
