DJ Mad Max is working to bridge the gap between old & new school Hip-Hop through his show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max. With his vast Hip-Hop knowledge and unique interview style, he is introducing his generation to the legends that started it all. The show features a wide variety of guest stars including Hip-Hop artists of the past & present, R&B artists, producers/DJs, industry managers, and even pro athletes. When possible guest rappers bless the show with a freestyle. Max likes to mix it up and talk sports with his Hip-Hop guests, and Hip-Hop with his sports guests.

Thank you goes out to Raina Simone for coming on my show for an interview! Raina talked about her upcoming debut album Old Soul, New Conscience, J. Cole being the main inspiration for her rap career, and her experience of attending Howard University. She talked about her start in music and learning how to be a producer as well as being from Harlem and New Jersey. We got into the importance of the messages in her music of speaking about civil rights and police brutality. Shoutout to Bridgeport, CT's own next up and coming emcee Showly for coming on my show for an interview! Showly talked about his start in rap, his BET Cypher, and his newest album Billion$. He got into his collaborations with Benny the Butcher and Tsu Surf. He spoke on the Connecticut Hip-Hop scene and why CT artists don't get the attention that they deserve. Thank you to Brooklyn, NY's own Skyzoo for coming on my show for an interview! Skyzoo discussed his new album All the Brilliant Things, the gentrification that has been taking place in Brooklyn, gentrification in Hip-Hop, and his reaction to people calling his first album The Salvation a classic. He got into his well-known stories of when he could not go to a Ruff Ryders session with DMX, The Lox, and Eve when he was a teenager due to watching his younger brother and giving his demo tape to a Bad Boy Records member at a local store. He talked about his friendship with Tyrese and going to Mary J. Blige's house with him. Skyzoo also spoke about Charlamagne Tha God being his cousin. He also talked about the many legends that he has worked with including: DJ Premier, Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, Diamond D, and Talib Kweli. We closed out the show talking about his Knicks fandom as well as what the team should do in the offseason.

Huge thank you to the legendary and iconic actor John Amos for coming on my show for an interview! John Amos talked about his early life of growing up in East Orange, New Jersey, attending Colorado State University, and his involvement in both the NFL & boxing. He got into getting into the acting show business, starting out as Gordy Howard on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, his most memorable moments on Good Times as James Evans, and landing the role of Kunta Kinte in the hit series Roots. He discussed his true number one passion of being a live performer and experience of being on Broadway. He got into Coming to America, working with Eddie Murphy, and reprising his role as Cleo McDowell in Coming 2 America. He recently stared in a film called Because of Charley and talked about how the film was made during the pandemic. He also created a children's book that released in 2017 called A World Without Color. He ended the show talking about his role in George A Romero's Two Evil Eyes and what it was like working with one of the greatest horror movie creators of all time. Big thank you to the remix king DJ Tedsmooth for coming on my show for an interview! Tedsmooth discussed his upcoming remix of Jay-Z's debut album Reasonable Doubt called Remixable Doubt, DJing The Fat Joe Show on Friday nights on Instagram Live, and producing F vs. J Intro on Fabolous & Jadakiss' Friday on Elm Street album. He got into his accolades of winning "Remixer of the Year" 3 years in a row at the Global Spin Awards, getting a co-sign from DJ Funkmaster Flex, and Puff Daddy passing him the remix baton. He got into his show that he wants to have programmed on TV called "Behind The Speaker" where he interviews legendary DJs. Shoutout to Rocky Mount, North Carolina's own Donnie Visa for coming on the show for an interview for the fifth independent artist interview of Independent Artist Hour Spotlight with DJ Mad Max! Donnie Visa talked about his early life of growing up in Rocky Mount, the artists who inspired him, and creating his own independent label called Approved Way. He discussed the importance of networking and why Mezz Entertainment was the perfect fit for him. He just released a song with DJ Wonder called Not One of Them and is currently working on a music video for it as well as another music video for an upcoming song that will be inspired by the horror movie Thirteen Ghosts that will release this October. On June 27th, Donnie Visa will be performing at an event in Brooklyn. Stay tuned!

Big thank you to Hip-Hop legend and the Wu-Tang Clan's own CappaDonna for coming on my show for an interview! CappaDonna talked about his new album Black Tarrzann, the criticism that he got off of the album cover, and the upcoming albums that he is working on. He told the stories behind the video shoots of Ice Cream and Triumph. He got into how it felt performing with Method Man at his Verzuz with Redman and Method Man acknowledging that if it was not for CappaDonna he would not be rapping. He also gave his thoughts on the current state of hip hop and the New York radio stations not playing the true New York boom bap sound as well as new music from the legends.

Big thank you to the legendary and WBLS' Mr. Quiet Storm Lenny Green for coming on my show for an interview! Lenny Green began the show talking about originally wanting to be the second Michael Jackson, starting his radio career at Kingsborough Community College's radio station, and eventually doing radio in New Haven, CT. He talked about how he landed his show on 98.7 KISS FM and hosting his legendary show The Quiet Storm on WBLS on 107.5. He voiced his opinion on today's R&B and why the sound has drastically changed from back in the day. We discussed his legendary interviews with Smokey Robinson, R. Kelly, Keith Sweat, and the Jackson 5 as well as the album that he believes defines 90s R&B. Lenny is currently working on a book and will be putting a documentary together in the future! Thank you to one of the nicest emcees there is and that is Milano Constantine for coming on my show for an interview! Milano talked about his newest albums Eating But Still Hungry with Showbiz and Write It in Blood with Body Bag Ben. He told the story of battling Big Pun and making the song Where Ya At with him. He also talked about the first time he met Big L and how he became affiliated with the legendary Hip-Hop group D.I.T.C. We analyzed the songs off of the albums, including the horror movie references and Broadway Joe. Milano talked about how Hip-Hop and horror are connected. He also looked back on his classic tracks Deal With A Feelin' and Rep For The Slums. He is currently working on Write It in Blood 2 as well as a new album with Showbiz.

Shoutout to my guy SNS for coming on my show for an interview! SNS talked about his new BIG ICY EP, his ICY GANG group, and his upcoming work with Dave East & Jim Jones. He got into making moves and carving a lane of his own in hip hop, not depending on his father the legendary DJ SNS. SNS is currently working on the deluxe version for BIG ICY as well as another project called Harlem Horror 3. SNS also talked about the interview that he had with his mother recently and what that meant to both of them. We also gave our thoughts on the new DMX Exodus album.
