Hip Hop legend Rampage The Last Boy Scout talks about the Flipmode Squad and being on the Flava In Ya Ear Remix on "Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max" on WSJU Radio at St. John's University

     I want to thank Hip-Hop legend Rampage for calling into my show last night on WSJU Radio at St. John's University. He mentioned many rappers who influenced him including Special Ed and Chubb Rock. Growing up in Flatbush Brooklyn, NY he lived around many of these rappers. Busta Rhymes is his first cousin and they are in the same group known as the Flipmode Squad. He talked about signing his first deal and being on the greatest Hip-Hop remix of all time, which is Craig Mack's Flava In Ya Ear Remix. He discussed his friendships with Craig Mack and The Notorious B.I.G. aka Biggie Smalls. He has another song with Craig Mack that they recently had recorded before Craig Mack sadly, passed away. We talked about his classic first album Scout's Honor... by Way of Blood and the hit song off of the album Wild for da Night. One of the greatest parts about this interview was that Rampage was freestyling at times! He started the hashtag/term for Hip-Hop today and that is mumble rap. He has kept it real from day one and tells it like it is. He made his music the way he wanted to and I have always loved the grittiness in his music. He has a lot going on: he is going to be in an upcoming movie, he is creating a cartoon, he has his own headphone brand, he has his own sports and Hip-Hop show on NBC, and he is a DJ. Be on the lookout because he has a vault of tracks recorded and he will be dropping a new album soon called When Hell Freezes Over! Loko Warbucks, Mani, and G Sleazy talk Winter Sprinter on "Sports and Hip Hop with DJ Mad Max" on WSJU Radio at St. John's University

     I want to thank my brother Loko Warbucks and his crew Mani and G Sleazy for coming on my show "Sports and Hip Hop with DJ Mad Max" last night on WSJU radio at St. John's University. This interview is for Loko Warbucks' debut album Winter Sprinter, which will be available on all music platforms this Friday, March 1st! We broke down all the tracks on the album as well as the backstory behind them. The intro on this album is one of the greatest into's that I have ever heard, if not the greatest. He spit a surprise killer freestyle over Big L and Jay-Z's '95 freestyle instrumental with Stretch and Bobbito.      I want to thank up and coming rapper Litty Rocc for coming on my show for an interview today along with Druski from Money Clip Entertainment! We discussed his music and his upcoming mixtape expected to release on April 11th, so be on the lookout for that! He can do real Hip-Hop along with trap music and you can hear his emotion in his music. Litty Rocc spit a fire, emotional freestyle in this interview over Tsu Surf's What If instrumental. He is also involved in the London scene of Hip Hop, now living in Queens, New York.  They also talked about what sports teams they root for. Shad talks A Short Story About War and hosting Hip-Hop Evolution on Netflix on "Sports and Hip Hop with DJ Mad Max"

     In this show, I interviewed Canadian Hip-Hop/Rap emcee and host of Hip-Hop Evolution Shad. We discussed his past music along with his newest album A Short Story About A War, which is available on all music platforms now! Shad also talked about winning the 2011 Rap Recording of the Year at the Juno Awards beating fellow nominee Drake and talked about his favorite sports teams as well. He hosted CBC Radio’s Q and now hosts the Hip-Hop Evolution docuseries, whose 2016 season on HBO Canada earned both a Peabody Award and an International Emmy Award. This docuseries is also available on Netflix, in which I highly recommend Hip-Hop listeners to watch because it will give you insight on how it all started. 

     Uncle Phil and I broke down Super Bowl 53 and NFL news. We also discussed the recent Knicks trade and other NBA news. 

Hip-Hop Legend Masta Ace talks new album A Breukelen Story and working with Marco Polo on "Sports and Hip Hop with DJ Mad Max"

In this episode, Hip-Hop/Rap legend Masta Ace talks about his new album with Marco Polo, A Breukelen Story." We discussed some of his older albums and collaborative albums with Boston emcee Ed OG as well. He talked about being a DJ before becoming a rapper. He gave his views on Hip Hop today and why he prefers touring overseas instead of the U.S. We even talked sports.

This past Monday night I interviewed NYC's own and the illest emcee David Bars. Mic Geronimo was our special guest for our last show of the semester. He talked about his friendship with Biggie, hanging with Tupac, and what it was like to be a part of hip hop in the early days. He dropped a brand new exclusive release on the show. He freestyled, and even battled with Loko. It was an honor having him on the show and be on the lookout for some new music he may drop soon!
