DJ Mad Max is working to bridge the gap between old & new school Hip-Hop through his show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max. With his vast Hip-Hop knowledge and unique interview style, he is introducing his generation to the legends that started it all. The show features a wide variety of guest stars including Hip-Hop artists of the past & present, R&B artists, producers/DJs, industry managers, and even pro athletes. When possible guest rappers bless the show with a freestyle. Max likes to mix it up and talk sports with his Hip-Hop guests, and Hip-Hop with his sports guests.

Big thank you goes out to the legendary RSONIST (The Heatmakerz) for stopping by my show this past week on WSJU Radio at St. John's University for a great interview! He discussed becoming a producer, the current state of Hip-Hop production, and meeting Cam'ron and Jim Jones. He talked about producing hit tracks for Canibus, The Diplomats, and Lil Wayne. I want to thank the legendary Tony Todd for calling into my show. Tony is most famous for his role as Candyman. He was also in Platoon, Night of the Living Dead 1990, the Final Destination films, and countless other movies, television and broadway shows. I would like to thank Horror Icon Doug Bradley, who played Pinhead in the Hellraiser films, for calling into my show "Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max" on WSJU Radio at St. John's University this past Monday night! Doug talked about what it was like growing up in Liverpool, England, meeting Clive Barker in High School, and working with Clive on the masterpiece film Hellraiser. Doug discussed his most memorable moments playing Pinhead, including his favorite lines from the films. He described what pleasure and pain in the films meant and that everyone has their own interpretations of what those words mean to them. He talked about the makeup process for the film and that it took an average of 4-5 hours to put on. I want to thank actor and stuntman Don Shanks, who played Michael Myers in Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, for calling into my show "Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max" this past week! Don talked about becoming an actor/stuntman, his audition for Halloween 5, and playing the iconic horror movie slasher Michael Myers. He discussed what it was like working with Donald Pleasance and Danielle Harris. He described some scenes they shot for the film that did not make the final cut including the Dr. Death and murder of the SWAT team scenes. I want to thank Hip-Hop legend Cormega for calling into my show "Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max" last night on WSJU Radio at St. John's University. He talked about growing up in Queens and the rappers who inspired him. He explained why he took the independent artist route and how he was able to market/sell his records that way. He discussed why he didn't mention any brands on his "Mega Ep" and he gave his view on politics. He ranked his albums from top to bottom. He does not listen to the new mainstream Hip-Hop today. He just focuses on making the music that he has been making since the beginning. Something that I love about Cormega is that he really cares about his fans. He has called every fan on the phone that has sent him proof that they bought his new Ewing sneakers. Cormega went into details on his collaborations with Ewing Athletics and Chalk Line. He mentioned that he has new music on the way, so stay tuned for that and he will also be performing in Long Island on October 19th at Amityville Music Hall. Shoutout to Lak for coming on my show Sports and Hip-Hop last night on WSJU Radio at St. John's University. Lak discussed becoming a rapper at an early age and hearing the reactions from others about his songs being played on a Philadelphia radio station. He explained why he chose the route of educating through lyrics and being the CEO of his own company known as Smart Hip Hop Global. His two albums Lesson 1: Hip-Hop & Education and Lesson 2: Hip-Hop & Education are available on all music platforms. He mentioned that two documentaries and a book will be on the way in the near future. I also want to thank Hip-Hop legend Capone for calling into the show to talk about his upcoming Ep with Lak that will release in early 2020. They have a song together called Redemption on Lesson 2: Hip-Hop & Education. Lak and Capone also gave their opinions on the state of Hip-Hop today. Lak spit two fire freestyles on the show over Big Daddy Kane's Mortal Combat and KRS One's A Friend. He also listed his professional sports teams that he is a fan of.

I want to thank Rontez Miles for calling into my show "Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max" on WSJU Radio at St. John's University. He talked about growing up in Braddock, Pennsylvania, his love of football at an early age, his time at California University of Pennsylvania, and signing with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent. He talked about what he learned from Rex Ryan, Todd Bowles, and now what he has learned from the current defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Rontez also told me what the NFL helmets are currently like and being a defensive player in this era of football. His main goal this season is to help the New York Jets end their playoff drought. He is also a Hip-Hop artist that goes by the name of Teddy P. He has a few singles out on all platforms now including F**k Em and Lucky. He has his own record label called BH the label. One artist he has on his label is Banga Cyss, who released a new project recently called The Vibe. The Vibe is available on all platforms as well.
