DJ Mad Max is working to bridge the gap between old & new school Hip-Hop through his show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max. With his vast Hip-Hop knowledge and unique interview style, he is introducing his generation to the legends that started it all. The show features a wide variety of guest stars including Hip-Hop artists of the past & present, R&B artists, producers/DJs, industry managers, and even pro athletes. When possible guest rappers bless the show with a freestyle. Max likes to mix it up and talk sports with his Hip-Hop guests, and Hip-Hop with his sports guests.

Big thank you to Harlem, New York's own fashion icon Dapper Dan for coming on my show for an interview! Dapper Dan discussed his life story, reading John Scarne books to master gambling, and turning his life around when he went to jail at a young age. He discussed studying at the Countee Cullen Library, his experience at Columbia University, and finding himself spiritually during his trips to Africa. He got into writing for 40 Acres and A Mule, warning about the gentrification coming to Harlem, and opening up Dapper Dan's Boutique in 1982. He then spoke about the Hip-Hop artists that he styled including: LLCoolJ, Eric B. & Rakim, & Boogie Down Productions, the infamous Mike Tyson Mitch Green fight that took place in his shop that would eventually get his store shut down, and having to go underground. Dapper Dan also got into designing Salma Hayek's dress for the Oscars, his Gucci partnership, and when jerseys became a huge part of the Hip-Hop culture. Dap announced that he has another book that he is writing on the way as well as his movie on his life story through Sony Pictures. Stay tuned!

Thank you to 1/2 of Detroit's own Hip-Hop duo Twiztid Jamie Madrox for coming on my show for an interview! Jamie talked about the new Twiztid album Glyph, the sixth edition of Astronomicon that will be going down from March 3rd to March 5th at Burton Manor, Michigan, and the stories of how he and Paul Monoxide got together. He discussed why N.W.A.'s Straight Outta Compton may serve as a gateway into Hip-Hop for heavy metal and rock fans, stories about Eminem, and working with Three 6 Mafia on their song Where It's Goin' Down. He also got into working with DJ Quik and Tha Dogg Pound on Hurt Someone, Horrorcore going mainstream, being apart of To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story, and his top five horror films of all time. Huge thank you to the CEO/Founder of Loud Records and Spring Sound Steve Rifkind for coming on my show for an interview! Steve talked about how the music business was failing before Covid hit, what he learned from his father Jules Rifkind, and creating the first Street Team. He spoke about his experience of managing New Edition when they made their Heart Break album. He got into not wanting to start Loud Records at first, then signing legendary acts such as Twista, Tha Alkaholiks, Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, and Big Pun, and when he knew that he had a hit with Wu-Tang. He told the stories of where he was when Big Pun and Prodigy passed away. He also got into how 2Pac was his roommate and his Biggie Smalls story. He discussed getting the Miramax Films picture deal for Paid in Full. He then talked about having the last laugh when signing Akon to SRC, managing DMX, wanting to have a 60th birthday concert combined of artists from both Loud Records & SRC, and how he is expanding his current label Spring Sound.

Big thank you to 5x Grammy Award Winner and Atlanta's own CeeLo Green for coming on my show for an interview! CeeLo talked about Goodie Mob, Dungeon Family, his mother being a minister who owned a store in the mall that he was in during this interview. He discussed fighting for civil rights of Southern Hip-Hop, wanting to destroy establishment when he got into the music industry, and how his career became the complete opposite of anti-establishment. He got into his alias of Gnarls Barkley with Danger Mouse, his friendship with the late great Notorious B.I.G., and if he would do posthumously work with Biggie. CeeLo spoke about Mark Burnett watching his SNL performance leading to get his spot on The Voice, why he left the show, and the possibility of the original cast getting back together on The Voice. He closed out the show speaking about wanting to create a next-level lyrical Hip-Hop album, announcing his upcoming project with DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill, and wanting to pursue acting further. Thank you to Nigeria's own M.I Abaga for coming on my show for an interview! M.I Abaga talked about his new album The Guy, the album being rooted in doing impossible things with sheer audacity, and collaborating with Nas on Bigger. He discussed studying depression and creating A Study On Self Worth: Yxng Dxnzl about it. He got into coming to America to go to Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, messing up in wanting to pursue the American Dream, and going back to Nigeria to pursue a successful Hip-Hop career. He spoke about the toxic state of social media, the class system in America vs. Nigeria, and the principle that his parents taught him to have longevity in the music industry. Big thank you to NBA TV and Turner Sports' own Emmy Award winning sports broadcaster Ro Parrish for coming on my show for an interview! Ro Parrish discussed his career in broadcasting, getting a degree in Radio/TV & Film at the University of North Texas in Denton, and his journey to NBATV. He reflected on winning his Emmy Award and that the Ro Parrish legacy is just beginning. He talked about being a retired DJ, DJing a Beyoncé concert, and his thoughts on the current state of Hip-Hop. He listed his top 5 rappers/emcees of all time. He gave his thoughts on the cancel culture, the Malice at the Palace Netflix documentary, and the Knicks' moves this offseason bringing in Evan Fournier & Kemba Walker. He also announced his acting debut for a BET production coming very soon, in which he is playing himself. Stay tuned!

Huge thank you to legendary director Joe Dante for coming on my show for an interview! Joe discussed his passion for movies starting at a young age by going to the movie theaters, his love for classic Horror films, and how he started working with Roger Corman. He talked about directing The Howling, wanting to cut down the iconic werewolf transformation scene, and originally promoting this film as a slasher. He got into directing his iconic film Gremlins, in which Steven Spielberg sent him the script in the mail. He told the stories of when he knew that Howie Mandel was the perfect voice for Gizmo and why he wanted Kate's monologue scene to be in the film. Joe then got into why he didn't want to make Gremlins 2: The New Batch, the technology being easier to use the Gremlin puppets in this film, and the references to Lon Chaney Sr.'s face reveal in the 1925 The Phantom of the Opera and Rambo. He talked about the upcoming animated Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai that will be airing on HBO Max soon and the upcoming Roger Corman biopic that he is currently working on. We went over his contributions to the Horror genre, Horror films that impressed him recently, and he gave great advice on what makes a great Horror sequel.

Thank you to Judith O’Dea who played Barbara in George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead for coming on my show for an interview! Judith talked about getting a call to audition for the role of Barbara less than a year after moving out to California from Pittsburgh, how her fear of Vincent Price in House of Wax 1953 prepared her for her performance in Night of the Living Dead, and the barriers that the film broke with casting the first black actor as the lead in a horror film, Duane Jones. She discussed how the time period that the film was shot in relates to the political tensions that are escalating today, learning a lot from George A. Romero on set, and getting worked up for her ad-lib scene where her character recalls what happened at the cemetery. She also got into the story of the prop of the corpse at the top of the stairs in the film, going to the premiere, and stories from being on set with the other cast members. Judith also spoke about her short story that she wants to see made into a film called The Old Woman and the Alien and Night of the Living Dead’s upcoming 55th anniversary next year.

Thank you to Betsy Baker for coming on my show for an interview! Betsy talked about her early life of growing up in Saint Joseph's Michigan, going to Michigan State University originally on a music scholarship, and switching over into theater. She discussed getting the role as Linda in Sam Raimi's classic The Evil Dead, the grueling shoot of the film, and when she realized that the film had become a pop culture phenomenon. She got into stories of being on set, watching Sam Raimi invent the handheld shot shaky cam movement, and the rumors of the cabin being haunted. Betsy revealed that she was supposed to reprise her role as Linda in Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn and why she couldn't. She also spoke about reuniting with Sam Raimi on Oz: The Great and Powerful, voicing Linda in Evil Dead: The Game, and her upcoming work in the British Disney Show The Wedding Season. Stay tuned!

Thank you to St. Louis, MO's own Eric Nenninger for coming on my show for an interview! Eric talked about attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California, his first taste of the entertainment industry as Jared Chirp on The X-Files' Signs and Wonders episode, portraying Cadet Eric Hanson in Malcom in the Middle, and playing Scott Braddock in Jeepers Creepers 2. He told stories of being on set and his experience at the premiere of Jeepers Creepers 2. He got into his love for comedies and stage acting. Eric discussed being apart of CSI's first violent and gory episode, Captain Dave "Captain America" McGraw being the role that he is most proud of throughout his career, and his monologue scene leading Don Draper to retire in Mad Men. Eric also gave advice on how to deal with depression as an actor, what he thinks he needed to master in the craft of acting to become an acting coach, and gave a preview of the upcoming season 2 of HBO's Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, in which he plays Keith Erickson who was the color commentator for the Lakers during the Showtime Lakers era.
