I want to thank Buddy Wike and Jeffrey Sanders of the legendary RnB group INTRO for coming on my show Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max on WSJU Radio at St. John's University in Queens, NY last night. Buddy talked about meeting Kenny Greene in the army and how the group came together. Heavy D helped push them when they were starting out. They talked about their experience with Stevie Wonder and how he beat Jeffrey in air hockey twice. They also did the greatest cover of Stevie Wonder's Ribbon in the Sky and Stevie loved it. They also talked about writing for Mary J. Blige and other artists in the industry. Jeffrey said that the ending skit of Come Inside is real and that they played that part on the radio back in the day. Buddy and Jeffrey shared their experiences making their two albums INTRO and New Life as well as going on tour. We had a Nas vs. Jay-Z discussion. Buddy grew up with Jay-Z and played basketball with him as well. They gave their opinion of RnB and Hip-Hop today. We also talked about fashion today vs. fashion back in the day and sports. Shoutout to Andrew Brown aka Young Cornbread for coming to the start of the interview. Shoutout to Loko Warbucks for coming on the show and spitting a freestyle. Buddy murdered the mic with his freestyle. Jeffrey and Buddy gave an amazing acapella performance of Let Me Be the One and Love Thang! Be on the lookout because INTRO may be releasing new music soon! Thanks again for coming on the show and most of all Rest In Peace Kenny Greene.

I want to thank my brother and the Bronx's own Beenofficial for coming on my show "Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max last night on WSJU Radio at St. John's University. He talked about writing his first rap song as well as his favorite artist who inspired him and that is Kool G Rap. He gave his view on Hip-Hop today and believes that lyrical rap will make a comeback, which I believe as well because everything happens in cycles. He has a lot of bangers out on all music platforms that he has recently released including: Downpour, Forever NewSchool, Ay Now, No Shorts, and UKTV. Some of his raps remind me of Onyx member Sticky Fingaz. He also spit a fire freestyle over Rick Ross' Crocodile Python! If you are a true Hip-Hop head who appreciates the lyrics, I highly recommend you check Beenofficial out because he represents the real Hip-Hop! Keep grinding my bro, I believe big things will happen for you!

I want to thank the legend DJ Chuck Chillout for calling into my show last night on WSJU Radio at St. John's University. He told me about the first time he saw a set of turntables, in which he wanted to become a DJ. He received his first set of turntables for his birthday and his dream of becoming a DJ came true. He told me how he got his name as well as collaborating with Kool Chip for their classic album "Masters of the Rhythm" that released in 1989. He talked about his journey to becoming an on air DJ in 1982 on 98.7 Kiss FM. He loved DJing overseas in Japan and having a radio show over there as well. He loved it so much that he almost didn't come back. He was one of the first DJs to play Hip-Hop music in Japan and the people loved it. He named his favorite artists from back in the day as well as some of the artists he likes today. Chuck Chillout keeps it real and has no time for 'Space Music', in which he gave that name to the mainstream Hip-Hop today. He told a hilarious story about Desiigner when he saw him in the hallway at WBLS. Thanks again for calling in and giving me the positive advice! Most of all don't forget to lock into DJ Chuck Chillout's show on Saturday nights from 11:00pm to 12:00am est on WBLS! https://maxrcoughlan.com/sports-and-hip-hop.html
